Derek let out a soft snort as he watched the little girl running around in the preserve, getting dirtier and dirtier as each second passed. She didn’t seem to be slowing down or losing any sort of energy as she bound from tree to tree, trying to catch the jackrabbit that’d caught her attention.
“You do realize that she can hear you, right?” he asked, brow quirked.
Charlie, hearing heightened due to being a born ‘wolf, skid to a halt when she heard Stiles’ words. Giving a tiny huff of annoyance, she turned around and ran over to the two men, glaring at Stiles as soon as she was a few feet away from him. Lips curling into a small pout, she crossed her arms over her puffed out chest.
“I’m better than a puppy!” she whined, eyes flashing a bright gold out of reflex. She still couldn’t quite control the 'wolf part of her, and it was moments like this when it really showed. “Papa, tell him I’m better than a puppy.”
Derek, in response, held up his hands and shook his head, refusing to take any part of the conversation.
