Fresh from college and after earning his teacher's credentials, Derek is the newest history teacher at Beacon Hills High School. In this verse, Laura is still alive and is the one who informed him that the position was open after Mr. Barrish, the previous history teacher, retired.

Now he's starting out his first year of teaching, and he does not know what he's in for.

This verse actually has two different versions, but the baiscs are the same:

Instead of trying to turn Paige, Derek and her simply continued their relationship at a normal progression, much like any other teenage romance. However, things got a bit complicated when they found out that Paige was pregnant. After lots of discussion between the two, they decided to keep it, but due to complications during the delivery, Paige didn't make it, and now Derek is left trying to raise their daughter, Charlotte Anne (Charlie for short), all on his own without Paige.

Version 1:

This verse has Derek's family living and helping him to care for his daughter. With everyone still alive, Derek didn't have to leave town, and he was able to raise her in a normal pack.

Version 2:

This verse is more canon compliant in that Derek still fell for Kate's charms during his grief, and even though Charlie was his main priority, the hunter was still able to sink her claws into him. With only his daughter and his sister, he was forced to grow up even sooner than expected, dropping out of school in order to help provide for the two of them. When his sister left to return to Beacon Hills and didn't come back after a week, Derek packed up his and Charlie's things and returned home, only to find his sister had been murdered.

Meet Special Agent Hale, one of the FBI's go-to agents for some of the toughest cases. They don't know how it is he's able to find things that the other agents can't or how he's able to solve things that seem like lost causes, but it seems that most don't mind so long as he gets the job done.

This is a complete canon divergent AU.

Losing Laura to a car accident, Derek became an alpha and decided to head back to Beacon Hills--the only place he'd ever considered home. Adjusting back to the small town life wasn't easy for the man, and he found himself growing restless, an uneasiness settling in his bones.

Knowing for a fact that the fire was never an accident and knowing his own part in the brutal murders of his family, he starts to piece together everyone who was in on the fire, and deciding to get revenge, he starts to kill each and every person who has any connection at all, always making sure not to leave a single trace of who or what killed them so as to make sure they could never be tracked back to him.

However, Derek soon realizes the thrill of the hunt, the enjoyment his 'wolf gets out of tearing into the flesh of humans, of sinking its teeth into the tender skin, mouth filling with the bitter metallic liquid, and he can't seem to stop, nore does he want to.

Years after the fire, Derek and Laura returned to Beacon Hills to rebuild their lives while trying to reconnect with their past. After feeling restless and unable to keep from going out of his mind with grief and guilt, he started to tinker with Laura's car, trying to figure out how it worked while pushing away all thoughts of the fire aside. Eventually this led to his sister suggesting he take courses at the local community college to become a mechanic, and now he works at the local garage.

After the fire, Derek refused to talk for over a year, feeling the crushing weight of guilt pressing down on him. When Laura couldn't figure out what to do or what was wrong with him, she took him to a therapist. After a seemingly off-handed suggestion by the therapist, Derek started to express himself through his art, finding solace in it in ways he couldn't otherwise.

Eventually, he became quite the artist, taking to acrylic paintings and oil paintings, though he could do other mediums of art just as well. Those two types of paintings, however, had claim over his heart.

However, ever the pragmatist, Derek knew that he couldn't expect to make a sufficient living off of his paintings and drawings, so he decided to pursue a job that would both allow him to make money and be artistic: tattooing.

Now, back in Beacon Hills, he's a promising up-and-coming tattoo artist, easily making more than enough to support himself and send money to Laura to make sure she was never in need.

It's like the title says. In this verse, everyone lives, Kate Argent never succeeds in setting the Hale house on fire and killing everyone, and things are completely different because of all the 'wolves.

Starting his junior year, Derek Hale is a History major with intentions on going through to get his Bachelors degree, followed by his Masters' degree, and all the way up to a PhD in the subject. His goal is to become a tenure professor.

In this verse, Derek still lost his family to the fire, and it's just him and Laura. The only reason why he applied to college in the first place was due to Laura's encouragement and telling him that their parents would be proud of him for being able to make something of his life.

Derek is the most well known photographer for the magazine "Neckz 'N Throats" a magazine started by his Uncle Peter a few years back. It's all but considered to be a soft porn magazine for werewolves and the like, but Derek's photoshoots are always known to be classy more than trashy.

This is a canon divergent verse where, instead of Lydia filling the role of Stiles' anchor, Derek does. After spending all night healing his sister, Derek ends up going to the high school without getting any sleep and manages to find Stiles, seeing if there's any news regarding the kidnapped parents or the alpha pack problems, and from there, things unfold, ultimately leading to Derek helping him through his panic attack and becoming his anchor. Eventually, they both serve as anchors for the other, grounding them when needed and taking care of them when the other forgets to.
