Peter Hale was born October 25th to Demetri and Alina Hale, a pair of mated 'wolves. Being almost twenty years younger than his sister and alpha, Talia, the two didn't get along very well. It wasn't that they were constantly fighting or anything, but Peter thought she was too old and too out of touch with the world around them while Talia thought that Peter was too naive and reckless. It also didn't helpt that Talia was already in a committed relationship and planning to settle down before Peter was even born.

Still, despite their differences in opinions and their clashing personalities, Peter grew into the role of Talia's Left-Hand far better than the woman was comfortable with, and he found his niche in the Pack, which was more than enough for him. He might not have been the one to call the shots or the one to make sure everyone understood the Alpha's decisions and was okay with them, but he was the one who could tell you where all the bodies were hidden and all of the dark secrets that was kept from prying eyes.

Peter's life, for the most part, was the same as everyone's else, with the few exceptions that came with being a werewolf. However, when Peter was twenty-four, he ran into a woman who was just-turned twenty-one at the time, and he knew almost instantly that this would be the woman he'd marry. He never believed in the hype about "mates" or any of the other archaic beliefs that the older 'wolves insisted upon, but there was something about Eliza that drew him to her.

Slowly, after getting to know each other and going on countless little dates, Peter started to seriuosly think about telling her about his secret, trying to get a feel for if she would be able to accept him and the Pack or not. Finally, after dating for about a year, he broke the news to her, and despite her having a bit of a hard time adjusting to the idea at first, she found herself fitting into the Pack seamlessly, even accepting the darker, more sinister and manipulative side of Peter once she really got to know him.

Everything seemed to be going well for Peter and the rest of the Pack. There weren't any threats from the hunters, the members were excited for Derek's graduation once the school year was over, and Peter and Eliza were expecting their first child. But then the fire happened and everything changed.
